Crustcake Picks - NYC Shows 11/29 - 12/5

Crustcake Show Picks

If you're feeling saucy, you might find your way to Death By Audio tomorrow night for Brooklyn's own Children with some other bands, one of which is a Priestbird side project (which may or may not be a good thing). Then again, you might not.

Do you like my ambiguity?

Ok, moving on. No ambiguity on Saturday-- Witchcraft are taking over Bowery Ballroom with Baroness in tow. I will be there. So will you. Doors are at midnight though, so you may want to have a nap beforehand.

Monday, Jinners is hosting a Blogger's Delight show at the Knitting Factory, which may or may not be of interest. Shit, back to the ambiguity, so sorry. Well, it is free. And Cheeseburger and The Big Sleep are pretty rad, so I hear.

Ted Leo & his pharmacists on Tuesday, but it's $20. You decide.

Friday 11/30 - Children, Birthday Boyz, LA Cross, Lapdog of Satan @ Death By Audio

Saturday 12/1 - Witchcraft, Baroness, Radio Moscow @ Bowery Ballroom

Monday 12/3 - Cheeseburger, Neckbeard Telecaster, The Big Sleep, Coin Under Tongue @ Knitting Factory

Tuesday 12/4 - Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Kristeen Young, Love or Perish @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
[MP3] Witchcraft - "You Bury Your Head"
[MP3] Baroness - "Wanderlust"
[MP3] Cheeseburger - "Tiger"
[MP3] The Big Sleep - "Pinkies"
[MP3] Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - "Sons of Cain"

Monday Quick-Links

* Stereogum premiered a new Ted Leo and The Pharmacists video last week.

* The Black Dahlia Murder are getting all democratic and allowing fans to vote on their setlist. SMNnews recently asked vocalist Trevor Strnad some very personal questions.

* MetalKult.com talked to Nile. Nile's music? Not boring. Nile's interviews? Booooooring.

* Queens of the Stone Age were asked to play a gig at a rehab facility and shortly after they kicked into "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" they were asked to leave. I don't know who is dumber/funnier: the guy who booked Stephen Colbert for last year's White House Press Corps dinner or the guy who books Queens of the Stone Age to serenade a bunch of recovering addicts.

* Phil Anselmo is "the best front man in the world and [has] the best band behind [him] and [he's] the best at what [he] fuckin' [does]," according to... Phil Anselmo.

* Amazon has released an electronic book that allows on-demand downloads of books, magazines, newspapers, etc. It may not sound all that interesting-- until you read their descriptions and watch some of the videos. The question is, does this device have enough advantages over a computer (size, convenience, simplicity, etc.) to make it worth actually adding yet another device to your growing arsenal?

[MP3] Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - "Old Souls Know"
[MP3] The Black Dahlia Murder - "What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse"
[MP3] Queens of the Stone Age - "Feel Good Hit of the Summer"
