Conflict is the essence of SXSW. Pulling your hair out because two hot day parties clash with each other. The lack of cell phone reception in the concrete-and-brick jungle of downtown Austin. Locals doing away with their shyness towards out-of-towners. Wanting to go Will Rahmer on the lines at Franklin BBQ.

But we weren't expecting this. Two of the most amazing matchups of metal and hip-hop are coming together this week. Y'all "you can't spell crap without rap" bustas can straight up fuck off right now. This is too amazing.

Read more below.

First up, we've got Little Rock's finest doom band - fuck it, the country's finest doom band - Pallbearer teaming up with Austin's The Impalers (who feature bros from Mammoth Grinder) to take on Juvenile, best known for the eternal club banger "Back That Ass Up." Juve won't go it alone, as fellow NOLA wreckers Mannie Fresh, Katey Red, and Nicky Da B. You most likely remember Mannie Fresh as one half of Big Tymers, Katey Red as a collaborator with the Queen Diva of Bounce, Big Freedia, and Nicky Da B for his recent hot single with Diplo. And wherever you stand on this, one thing is for certain: Pallbearer's latest, Sorrow and Extinction, is already one of the best records this year.

You think THAT'S ridiculous? Psych-black metallers Nachtmystium, who are both loved and derided by certain members of the 'cake, are doing it big at SXSW. How big? They're doing a day party Thursday with none other than Turquoise Jeep. If you haven't seen "Lemme Smang It," which you can below, fix that immediately. Even if you think Yung Humma looks like a broke ass Real from the short-lived VH1 Series Real Chance of Love, you can't deny his buttery voice. And hell, you wish you could rock the turquoise headband and fluffy 'stasche combo like Flynt Flossy does. We're hoping that Blake and co. will dance onstage for "Fried or Fertilized," or that the TJ crew will bust a move during the discotastic "No Funeral." Or better yet, both.

The Juvenile/Pallbearer show is going down as part of Chaos in Tejas' official SXSW showcase Wednesday at Volsted Lounge. Nachtmystium and Turquoise Jeep are scheduled to play Thursday at Elysium as part of Reggie's Rock Club's day party. Pallbearer and Nachtmystium both have several more shows at SXSW - check ShowlistAustin and SXSW for more details.
