Download: The Crustcast [MP3]

Going on a trip anytime soon? You got a vacation from work? Bad commute in the morning? Two hours which you just don't know how to fill? You're in luck buddy. We recorded a new episode of the Crustcast, and it is hot and fresh out of the oven! We used a little too much yeast though, so it's a lot bigger than we thought. But hey, who doesn't like hearing us talk, especially when "us" includes Cosmo Lee of Invisible Oranges, Andy Nolan of The Endless Blockade, our own Sean Walsh and, of course, me?

In this episode we talk about Nachtmystium's new songs a little bit, Isis breaking up and Maryland Deathfest. We even throw in a half-hour discussion about the relevance of analog media (tapes, zines, vinyl) in the digital age. Get excited!

And remember kids, you can subscribe to the 'cast through iTunes or whatever service you use by going here.

A Note To Readers:

I really think that this one is special. At two hours, I know it is daunting. I'm not going to pretend that putting up a two hour long podcast is a great way to gain new listeners, but I strongly urge everyone reading this to give it a chance. Listen to it parts if need be.

Having participated in it, having already known what was coming, I still could not stop listening to it. Andy and Cosmo are fantastic on this episode, both being funny, incredibly informative and very well spoken.

Excellent podcast. Thanks for doing this. Please have more sooner than later....

As a podcaster who always goes overboard I agree with Ignacio - better shorter and sooner than longer and lter

@Ignacio and Ben,

Super pumped that you guys are listening and enjoying! We have been talking about doing some shorter episodes to try to get more episodes out. This episode wasn't supposed to be two hours long, it just turned out that way.

We have been talking about doing "mini-episodes" that take a different format. Instead of round-table discussion, having audio interviews with bands, or with artists, or fans, or whatever. Maybe at a 30-45 mins including music. What do you guys think about that idea?

Ignacio Brown said...

i think that's a great idea. Don't make them too short but yeah, i guess it all depends on the content. Two hours is waaay long, editing is always your friend...
