THE GATES OF SLUMBER RELEASE "BLOOD AND THUNDER"

The Gates of Slumber are like an unrelentingly awesome songwriting factory made of lightning and boobs. We're pretty sure the press release said that anyway. It's true though; their last album made Decibel's "best of" year end list last year, and they're already set to release their new album, Hymns of Blood and Thunder for September 29th this year. A while back we alerted you to the first MP3 from that album, and it was awesome. Today, we have another one for you. It's called "Blood and Thunder."

Why anybody would name a track "Blood and Thunder" after Mastodon did it is completely beyond us, but GoS also released a song called "Angel of Death," so there's a precedent for this sort of thing.

"Blood and Thunder" itself is more of what we expect from the band - Wino-esque vocals over groovy doom riffs put together in solid songwriting that gets to the point.
