Amon Amarth, leaders of whatever Viking Metal movement there may be, will set sail for North American soil in October for a headlining tour. Support will come from The Absence.
The band began recording their seventh album in May. Metal Blade has launched a rather interesting website to promote the new album. The website features a video diary from the studio and regular installments of a comic strip featuring the band, which will later see print as one piece.
Unlike other bands who seem to deem their own personal geek-ness as something to aspire to, this comic strip seems like it could be naturally awesome (uh...cause it'll be about Vikings, and most likely everything else in the strip will end up dying anyway). It looks great too.
Make the jump for tentative tour dates, and we'll let you know when this tour is confirmed.
