Pitchfork.TV Goes Metal

Brooklyn Masonic Temple

Finally, some metal on Pitchfork.TV-- the recently-launched online music network sent diminutive staff writer Jessica Suarez into the fold with Scott Kelly and Steven von Till of Neurosis and Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher of Mastodon during their gig at Brooklyn's Masonic Temple in January.

Pitchfork interview w/ Neurosis/Mastodon

The interview is quite revealing: Dio sounds like an upside-down satanic rainbow, Brann Dailor used to sing riffs to his answering machine, and playing in a Masonic temple is favorable to playing at Shaky's Pizza.

At the beginning of the first clip, note the whiteboard calendar show listing wedged between a birthday party, a couple talent shows, a couple dances and two baby showers. So metal.

Any interview where Brann Dailor is a participant almost always turns out hilarious.
