Big promotional push for Opeth this week-- the Swedish proggers gave us a taste of Watershed (that's their forthcoming album for those that may have dozed off) on Monday, and now we have a video for the single "Porcelain Heart," which was made available for purchase yesterday.
"Porcelain Heart" is a gorgeous ghost of a song (yeah, we know 'gorgeous' isn't a very 'metal' description for a song, get over it)-- much mellower than "Lotus Eater"-- and its video is a stunning, dark, gothic affair that most recalls the work of Tim Burton. It's dramatic; so dramatic that if it was for a band with a hair less clout than Opeth, we'd probably be laughing.
The video was shot in a 17th century Swedish castle and directed by Lasse Hoile, who is also noted for his work with Porcupine Tree.
