Crustcake Picks - New Music 4/1

Crustcake Picks New Music

Chiggedy check it out, kids. Tomorrow, The Mighty Sword (actually, just 'The Sword'... I get a little carried away sometimes) unleash their mighty Gods of the Earth upon the world. I demand a video like the one they did for "Fire Lances of the Ancient Hyperzephyrians" for every single song on the record.

We're not really into cover bands (except for this one), but this Ministry Cover Up album sounds interesting. Via the press release:

Loaded with contributions from Revolting Cocks’ Sin Quirin and Josh Bradford, Burton C. Bell of Fear Factory, Prong’s Thomas Victor, and the late, great Paul Raven, Cover Up is a star-studded collection of vintage rock covers. Everyone from Deep Purple, to ZZ Top, to the Stones get a classic Ministry send-up.
Check out a preview at the band's MySpace.

Also out tomorrow, In Flames' latest, A Sense of Purpose. If you're a fan of the second half of the band's discography, you'll dig it.

And lastly, Swedish death metal legends Dismember are back with their self-titled eighth studio album. A little late in the game for the eponymous LP, dontcha think guys? Midlife crisis, perhaps? Check out some tracks at their MySpace. Those guitars sound like a friggen engine. A massive, rusty, evil engine with spikes and horns and skulls all over it.

Our picks:

In Flames - A Sense of Purpose [Amazon]

Ministry - Cover Up [Amazon]
