We're back! Didja miss us? Hope everyone had a great holiday and an beer/whisky/champagne-enhanced new year's eve. Let's get to the blogging, shall we?
I've been really into dark, ethereal, female-vocal sounds lately (see: Blonde Redhead, Goldfrapp, certain Massive Attack tracks). When I saw that Goldfrapp were scheduled to drop a new album this year (Seventh Tree, out 2/26) I tracked down the clip that got me into them in the first place, a live performance of "Lovely Head" that was recorded in 2001 at London's Shepherds Bush Empire. Check it out.

2 hollers:
out of the gate in '08 with a blog posting on goldfrapp? the metal gods are...confused!
kidding. i know you guys have eclectic tastes, and i agree that goldfrapp has given us some great, great music.
another band that comes to mind in this genre - Lamb. a little more jarring/esoteric than goldfrapp, but compelling (IMHO of course).
of course, if you wanna get in touch with the 80s synth pop that Goldfrapp channeled via the Supernature album, check out Yaz. Yaz created the template way back in like 1982, back when you were dressing in your mom's clothing and vamping around the basement with a Mr. Microphone to Pat Benatar songs (or was that just me?). Anyway, Yaz was great. Goldfrapp is great. Long live Crustcake.
Keep in mind that this is not a metal blog, though we seem to do a good job of convincing people otherwise!
I shall quote from crustcake's guarantees:
"[W]e promise always to throw in a healthy dose of non-metal (including some things that may surprise you) to keep things saucy..."
