I'm gonna join the OhMyRockness camp this week in endorsing the Apes and Androids and Blonde Redhead shows, both of which are, unfortunately, happening on the same night.
I am a big fan of Blonde Redhead's latest album, 23-- it's a bit of a departure from their previous Sonic-Youth-y output and that's not a bad thing at all. 23 is ethereal, haunting, enchanting.
As for Apes and Androids, I haven't heard too much, but after checking out their MySpace it seems OhMyRockness' description is fairly accurate:
Think David Bowie meets "Bohemian Rhapsody" meets Godspell meets Tron, and you're left with Apes and Androids. We caught these guys recently and thought we stepped straight into a rock opera.More after the jump.
