Crustcake has just learned from anonymous sources that legendary experimental metal pioneers Neurosis will be playing a pair of shows at the 100-year-old Brooklyn Masonic Temple on January 24 and 25. Additionally, the two shows will feature Neurot label-mates U.S. Christmas and A Storm of Light, respectively, and both will feature a yet-to-be-announced 'more-famous' metal band from Atlanta (we have our bets on Mastodon).
In even more awesome Neurosis-related news, guitarist Scott Kelly has officially signed on* for a doom side project that could very well be the metal super-group-to-end-all-super-groups. It's called Shrinebuilder, its rhythm section is comprised of Al Cisneros and Chris Hakius of Om, and it's fronted by none other than the legendary Wino (The Obsessed, St. Vitus, The Hidden Hand).
We haven't been this giddy about a new band since some metaphor (totally stole that) and you can rest assured that we'll be covering all Shrinebuilder-related developments thoroughly in the coming weeks/months.
